Were you the guy advancing through the grass that got pumped in the chest with a nerf football? I heard the LAW go off and dropped into the grass to look up and see someone about 50 feet away get smacked dead on with it. Funny stuff.

And then the LAW guy freakin misfired and landed it at his feet with 3 other guys right next to him. He was the only one decent enough to call himself out.

For my FIRST and not LAST Oklahoma Invasion.......I had a great time. Only one of my team members showed....the others had more serious things keeping them from the event. It was great to see all the faces there, new and old. I really enjoy playing with all of you guys. Texas teams that I met at Lights out were again a fearsome force to be reconed with.....Same goes to you Arkansas guys! I didnt have any tick issues, but you guys provided plenty of bb's to pull out of my ass.. As one of the guys who got shot while dead, I didnt have any problems with it.....CLOSE FIRE SITUATIONS + ALOT OF FRIGGIN GUNS POINTED IN THAT DIRECTION = YOUR BUTT WILL GET SHOT IF IN THE WAY.......Just part of the game, and to be honest with it....if I had problems getting shot, I wouldnt be playing airsoft.
There were so many that showed up for this event and really brought their honor with them, and that always makes for a great event. In other words, no day care sitting at invasion.

Smoker, you really brought it together man, and it was one hell of a show....i'm really looking forward to next years event, so thank you for the time and effort that it took to get things in motion, and finalized.....

Pitt, great to finally meet you man, seems like everyone almost got tread marks up their backs....me being one of them. But you were everywhere on the field making sure all was well, and rules were being followed. So props to you brother.

To the CO's for both sides. You all did one hell of a job keeping us with trigger time, and well placed attacks. It is always a pleasure playing with you guys.

Ruthless.......what can I say.......#2 BABY! lol You were a great XO and would fight under or with you anytime.

To all the SQL's, you kept your men safe, and kept honor in check....great job with the movments, and keeping me out of breath.

Oh, and JP....it was 9 safty kills man.....but thanks for the mention, I'll take 13 though.

For the guys in my squad.....I didnt know anyone of you prior to the event, and you all proved great in battle. Sorry for all the yelling, and cussing, but when the plastic starts flying......You know how it goes All in all you all did what I asked of you, and were there when you were needed. I would gladly go into battle with you all again.

To the sponsors.....Great prizes to give away! I got a leg rig that I really needed, so thanks to JT for that one. Rick at Kastway, great to finally meet you brother, and look forward to seeing you guys again..Hopfully on your grounds next time. I have yet to get a game in Texas, and plan on one really soon.

Just to close......Everyone played great, I saw really no rule breaking, and everyone called their hits. Honor was on the field at all times. The weather was great, and so was the conversation. Cant wait till next year......Op Ball drop in Arkansas.....cannot wait for that one either. Hope to see you all at Lights Out "Revisited" Great game, and great times

No I was the guy standing in the middle of the open area to the west yelling and cussing at the enemy. I was also providing free rude gestures. It was very Braveheart like... until i heard "fwoomp" and saw my death from above.

My only hope for next year is that the objectives once taken require all capturing players to respawn and regroup there. This would allow the defending team (which is out numbered) to get to their objectives and setup a defense.
And allow for the "1 counter attack" to actually take place. Command Net to be used to notify CO's of the capture and next obj to be ready to attack.

JFOK did a great job of pushing through the objectives though which really caused us to be on our heals from the get-go.

My take on the days events:

I started the day off in close company of the C.O. as his assistant, we watched most of the action fairly up close throughout the first two objectives after which I was ordered by the C.O. to break from command and head to the lines for some intel, which turned into combat. :)

1st objective: Sitting back and watching all of the movement of the entire JFOK force was an awesome site. There were heavy casualties in the beginning but the JOFK force was overwhelming and the push could not be stopped. Once the KPA realized that a L.A.W. had taken several of them out, the JFOK force pushed into position and took control. Very nice movement all around from everyone.

2nd objective: This one got a little rough, although major props should be given to the KPA for spreading their force out and getting us a little confused and split apart. Good work KPA. The ridge proved to be very difficult to push through as our visability was very limited. This became a problem especially when communication seemed to break down and several squads became caught in Friendly Fire. However changes were made by the C.O. and the objective was completed. After which point the C.O. had all platoons regroup and take a break, where he changed a few tactics, emphasized the process of pushing forward, and managed to do the best to fix the radio traffic and comm problems. Very nice work again from everyone and all the squads and platoon leaders for getting the job done and not letting some frustration get the better of the situation.

3rd objective: After regrouping, the JFOK forces led by their squad leaders and platoon leaders put on a clinic! Awesome movement, tactics, and shooting. Once the JFOK force moved into position, they pushed passed the creek and a hundred Tannie's swept the area slinging a serious amount of plastic. Much Respect to the KPA forces in that area, they knew they were gonna get lit up but stayed in and fought to the end, and put up a heck of a fight too!

4th objective: JFOK forces managed to once again use the L.A.W. to help achieve this objective as TearGas put a rocket right thru the commo door! Great work with that L.A.W. Teargas! Also there was some great hard charging by some that sacrificed themselves to help the surge.

5th objective: There was some concern as to whether JFOK would be able to achieve this within the time limit. And KPA wasn't gonna back down easily, they were ready. There was a mad rush across the field and the losses were heavy but once again the JFOK force kept charging and pushing until we made our way to cover. After that there was some good shooting both on the KPA side and JFOK side and the battle raged. JFOK's numbers proved to be to much and after a little while JFOK managed to take control and sweep the area, eliminating the few KPA that were left and taking control within the time frame allowed.

I just want to say how much Respect I have for KPA and JFOK forces. And as far as rule breaking and people not calling their hits, I saw none of that. As with anything nothing is completely perfect, but all those that I saw played very honest. I think maybe their were a few instances where adrenaline took over but those that I saw caught up in that realized quickly they had been shot and took their hits.

Outstanding job KPA for making JFOK work for everything they got.

JFOK, it was a pleasure to be on the same side as you. Hats off to all of you from all the different states that made the trip. I also think that the C.O. Queball deserves some props for a job very well done. X.O., Platoon leaders, and Squad leaders also did an outstanding job leading their respective groups on the field of play.

Thanks also to Smoker and Pitt for keeping the flow of the game and making sure we were all doing what we were supposed to be doing. Thanks to Kashi for the use of the land, and thanks to Kastner and all the Sponsors who donated the great door prizes. Also thanks to everyone that had a role in making this one top notch event.

Just wanted to stop by and say thank you to the admin for a great day. Kudos to Smoker and Pitt for all the hard work they put into this before and the day of.
Overkill, I would play under you anywhere, anytime, you were a great leader! Thanks!
Claymore, what a great shot, I didn't even see you in the grass! Renegade, what can I say, it was a pleasure to meet you and play. See you on the field sometime soon.
JFOK, any day is a great day when you have your opponent outnumbered, it was a pleasure playing with all of you.
KPA, as many times as I walked around you with my dead rag on I don't know if it was a pleasure or not, but it sure was fun.
Special thanks to Kashi for letting one of the teenagers leave their truck there overnight. I can't believe that I travelled with 6 teenage boys who didn't know how to change a flat tire! LOL or rather still LMAO. Thanks to those of you who tried to help them with the truck problem.

I was the guy standing near the parking lot that hit the guy in the chest with the LAW, It was already in the air when that guy walked out under it...thats was awesome though. if it is any consolation, the next round didnt have enough gas in it and landed beside my squad leader, taking us both out. I wasn't too sure if I liked the thing till I dropped a rocket into the middle of objective 1...then I was like a kid in a candy store. It took two tries to get a rocket into that doorway at the coms station, but it was worth it. If I had one here in wichita, I would be very unpopular to everyone thats not a part of Team Dark Horse...Im gonna get one  !! I had a blast there! thanks to everyone that played and especially to Kashi and the other organizers. Thank you Q-Ball for letting me use that LAW.

my first invasion

Postby oucowboy73 on Thu May 08, 2008 8:53 am

Many thanks goes out to everyone, Smoker, Pitt, Gandalf, Claymore, Rick Kastner, and all you that was in on the invasion. I felt out of place being a newcomer but when the plastic went to flying, I didn't feel lonely anymore. Smoker, thank you for inviting me and my son. Thiss was our first real action, even though we been into airsoft almost a year. Nice to meet you, too. Rick, thank you for all the help and the m15a4. I thought about askin for a trade, mp5a4 for that gun. It was small but it sure put out the ammo. Claymore, thank you for KPA's C.O. You did a fantanstic job. And Pitt, I kept wonering when you was either gonna hit a tree, or kill yourself making tacks on that four-wheeler and thank you for giving my son a ride back to hq for a new battery. And last but not least, Gandalf, 2nd platoon 1st squad. Well we sure did hold our ground and held them off for alit' bit.
At the comm, it was Jester (myself), Boomer, and three or four other guys that were pinned down on the back side of the bunker. We finally fell back behind some brush and held our ground for a good while. I can not wait til next year. Hey Smoker, if all possible put me under Gandalf.

Next year I want to be in charge of 'Special Weapons'.
Get a dozen of us old farts in one squad with a jeep or ATVs. We'll have Chili dogs and eggs for breakfast then we'll just stay upwind of the invaders.

I know you said put this to rest but I have to add to this because this has always been something that I see at every Op that doesn't make sense. Someone, coming across players that they cannot see and asking if they are friendly. This is Milsim, in the real world if this scenario happened no one in their right mind is going to admit to being the enemy and they are most likely going to try and mislead the person asking the question so they can have the tactical advantage. We always have a Challenge-Repsonse code setup so we can indentify, without question, an enemy force. I personally don't think us saying we were green is questionable at all. Misdirection and psychological warfare is a key part of any sound tactical operation.

Smoker wrote:Second, it is the hit persons reasonsiblity to get out of harms way and identify themselves as hit. If, someone is lighting someone up "just because" after they were hit that is one thing. But, if they were still in active combat with other near by enemies then the onis is on the dead to get out of the action. The area this happened in was BFE and it is a 90 degree angle. The attackers were coming from two sides and had there fire power converged at right angles so many people got hit even after they were trying to get out of there but there was no foul intentions that I saw.

Rest assured if we hit someone that was dead it was not intentional. We play with honor and respect for all players, period. This entire scene was chaotic and took place in some thick brush, one of my guys was shot 4 times with multiple rounds by the same guy. Sh-tuff happens. Like Smoker and rules said, get out of the way.

That being said, we had a great time and cannot wait to make it back for the next one.

Its my bad for making it seem like I was blaming anyone in particular because I wasn't, thats a wrong on my side. I was just letting the player who did it (and he will know who he is) of what he did and let him think about it. I had no idea who it was, all I know is that player came from your area a bit after the "questionable tactic" went down.

And I wasn't complaining about you calling yourselves green because it gave you an advantage, that wasn't my intention at all thats part of the game man. I completely understand your point of view. My only thing was you were confusing some guys of where they would respawn, either back in BFE or at the com tower due to it being friendly fire or enemy fire.

Again, my apologies for the misunderstanding. I had alot of fun and it was well worth 2 minor infractions. Like they say, Shit happens. :D

P.S. The late response it due to the fact that I lost my computer for a few days. But back up in running. Consider the topic resolved 8)

I finally made it to a computer....Been on the run since the Kashistan Invasion....The Invading JFOK armies routed the Mighty KPA and me, the CO out of the country...I've been living on spam and wild spider berries for weeks....Still shaking from the massive battery launched in the final minutes before game endex...

Gotta go...the locals are stirring and I don't want to be tied up in the town square and have my head kicked!!!

Que ball and the JFOK must pay...Vengence will be thrust upon the invading armies next year...

Yes, The mighty KPA CO is now 5 and 1...
